First, I really like Brian Bartels. He is a nice, thorough vet who has taken good care of our dogs. But I am worried about the kennel. I have taken my dogs there for YEARS, and they have been well cared for. But the long time person who ran that program left a few months ago, and the new people know nothing about customer service. Because they are closed Sundays, when I return from vacations or long weekends, I pick my dog up after work on Mondays. Twice in the last two months they've called and told me they were closing early and I had to leave work to go get my dog. Once they called at noon and wanted me to come right away! Their excuse: the office was ""hot."" It was maybe 85 outside. What kind of customer service is that? I work -- I can't just leave the office in the middle of the day to go get my dog! I am not sure if Bartels even knows about this; he is usually very customer-oriented. I am giving them one more chance, and if it isn't fixed, I am changing service providers for both vet and kennel. This is not a cheap service, and I expect more.
