Premier Mazda Stealership 8/8/2010

We decided to get some diagnostics run on the car before taking it on a road trip. My husband brought the car to Premier last Saturday where they ran their tests and determined we needed a timing belt and some ball joints replaced. The expensive stuff of course. I might add that our car has run perfectly fine up until this point, but to err on the side of caution, we wanted to check brakes, BATTERY, etc... \r \r Fast forward to yesterday, and while on our way out of town, we stop at Jamba Juice, get back to the car and it won't start. Our first thought is, something happened to it while it was in for repairs. Maybe not maliciously, but something wasn't properly connected. We call Madza and they want it towed to their facility. Ok, we figure, what else are we going to do? Our family of 5 (with a 15 month old I might add) is stranded. \r \r My husband and I discussed the fact that it may be the battery, but after checking the paperwork from Premier, which stated our battery tested GOOD/GREEN we ruled it out. All interior lights are working and the windshield wipers fired right up, so we were POSITIVE it had to be something else. \r \r The verdict at Premier...BATTERY. WHAT?! They just gave our battery a good status one week prior and now it's deader than a doornail. How is that possible? They say a battery can drain fast, which may be true, BUT IT HAS TO BE WITH THE RIGHT CONDITIONS, none of which were met. My guess is a connection or wire was loose and to save their asses, they sold us a battery we didn't need. It wasn't enough that we spent over $800 the week before at their dump, now we have to shell out almost $300 for a friggin battery and tow. To add insult to injury we had to pay another service fee for something that could have been added in the previous week. Wasn't ruining our family getaway enough? Sheesh! \r \r While my husband was asking Richard for answers, he copped a condescending and very unprofessional attitude. My husband is firm, but in no way rude, yet this other guy comes out from behind his desk and bucks up like he wants to jump him. Ridiculous!\r \r We took the car to Auto Zone last night to have their FREE diagnostic test run. We wanted to be sure there wasn't something else Premier's ""high tech"" equipment had missed. The guy comes out with this dinky little machine, hooks it up and a few minutes later we have a printout of information. Everything looks good EXCEPT the printout states that we need to check starter circuit for loose, worn or corroded wiring. Best case, Mazda missed this tidbit. Worst case, they loosened something. How can their supposed high tech equipment (that you have to pay for) miss something that Auto Zone's FREE service caught within 2 minutes? BTW, they do free battery installs as well, you'll pay $92 for that ""service"" at Premier. \r \r The peace of mind we initially sought at Premier's Stealership has turned into a nightmare. Do yourself a huge favor and stay far away from this place! Not an apology, fee waived, NOTHING but rudeness and lies. What happened to customer service for loyal customers with real money?!\r \r I would like to add that Mazda was initially our first choice for a new family car andt has now relegated itself to dead LAST. It's unfortunate too as it seems they could use the business. \r \r I would be happy to update this review of Premier Mazda Georgetown. My hope is that they truly are a reputable company and can make this right. If a supervisor would like to contact us regarding our experience, the invoice numbers are 70887 and 71203. My hope is that Premier will be able to take care of this customer service travesty on their level. An email with this information will be sent to EVERY Mazda corporate email address I can get my hands on in addition to starting phone calls first thing Monday morning. I refuse to stop until I get someone who cares to save Mazda's reputation! more
