I was impressed by how fast I was admitted to see Dr. Boyse. However the nurse that asked the initial questions seemed unconcerned about what I was telling her. Dr. Boyse then walks in and asks to look at my scalp and says ""see this is typical with African Americans"" and tells me it is due to the relaxers, perms, hair designs that we use. I left the office in tears. She suggested alopecia. The question I ask is why is it that she along with other dermatologist I've seen in the past never bother to get a scalp biopsy to see if it could possibly be another cause. I know that this is not mostly a ""black person thing"". Do other races have alopecia induced by hair care or primarily my race. A little disappointed because I read a review about her after I scheduled an appointment with her and it was negative. I should have went with that instead of giving her the benefit of the doubt.
