Turning you away at the door 7/19/2010

These People have absolutely no idea what good customer service is! I'm planning on getting married in May and my mom and I had been to several bridal shops in the area, and since David's Bridal was open until 7 and it was 4:30, we decided we'd go there next. At the door we were practically turned away. \r \r The lady at the door asked what she could do for us and we told her we were in the market for a wedding dress. She was like ""Well, we don't have any availability to work with you right now because we still have 3 more brides in the next two hours."" First red flag. There were SEVERAL associates wandering around. I'll admit the store did have several customers, but give me a break. They can't take care of 3 people in the next two hours? \r \r My mom being the optimist that she is politely responded, ""Well, that's okay. We're just trying to get some ideas today, we'll just look around."" The lady got defensive and said, ""That's not the way it works. We set up appointments to have a consultant help you pick things out. We don't have any available appointments today. You're supposed to work with the consultant and then we order for you what you decide on."" I can't even explain on a written online review how insanely RUDE this woman was. It was unbelievable. It was like something out of a movie. We were ready to walk out at this point now that we'd spent 5 minutes discussing how their store works. This sales associate was intent on turning us away as customers. They plainly just didn't want our business. She finally settled with letting us take a look around but told us that we weren't allowed to take ANYTHING off of any racks. \r \r I was so angry. I can't believe that they are so rude to a paying customer. I don't give a crap about how they think it ""works,"" I am the customer for goodness sake. You aren't going to let me look around? I'm paying YOU. I will tell YOU how things WORK.\r \r I did find a store that provided exceptional customer service and made the whole process all about me. I'll be buying my dress from them. I'm writing a letter to the specific location AND David's Bridal Coporate as should everyone else that has had a bad experience. I will tell all of my friends that are planning on getting married about my bad experience and warn them not to go to David's Bridal. In this economy people should not be turning away customers and their main focus should be providing exceptional customer service and making the customer happy. That's what keeps people returning to stores and referring their friends to them as well.\r \r Pros: Finally let us look Cons: worst customer experience so far in shopping for my wedding more
