I went over to this place to check it out for b-day party. It looked awesome. Great decor, check. Great service, check. No bottle requirement to reserve a table, check. I was going to book it then and there but the bartender said I had to call to book...
So I call to reserve it, give the guy all of my info, # of people, time and at the very end he asks my name to reserve it. I tell him, my name. He says ""That's an interesting name. Is it French?"" I say ""No, it's African, actually."" He then tells me that he made a mistake and that they actually don't have space left that night.
I didn't think anything of it until I retold the story to a friend and it dawned on me that he might have been lying because he found out that I was black. Still, I didn't know for certain so I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. Then my friend says he'll call and try to book the same night with the same info. He calls and once again gives all of his info to the guy and at the end the guy asks ""That's an interesting name. Where is it from?"" My friend says ""It's Italian."" and they chit chat about Italy for a few minutes. Then the guy says ""Ok. You're booked.""
That's when my jaw dropped. Blatantly prejudicial. It sucks too because it's a nice place that I wanted to go to. But I will never EVER give them my business. And you shouldn't either.
Pros: Great decor, hookah, decent music
Cons: Racist
