Best Chinese food I've had since moving to Houston! 7/20/2010

This restaurant was such a pleasant surprise! The food was the best I've had since moving from California 20 years ago. And definitely the best since moving to Houston 7 years ago. \r \r There was nothing, absolutely NOTHING I had that I didn't like. Even my iced tea was excellent. I usually have to sweeten my tea, but the flavor was so good that it wasn't even necessary. If someone doesn't like this food, they've been going to cheap buffets too long and have never had good Chinese food. \r \r The vegetables in my dish were so fresh and had excellent flavor. They weren't just ""fillers"" as they usually are. I think I may have actually tasted some of the kinds of vegetables in my dish for the first time. :) I also had the wonton soup before my meal and it was the best I've ever had. \r \r The service was great, everyone was very friendly. Some may say that it's a little pricey for lunch, but it was no more pricey, and probably less so, than most restaurants. It is worth every penny. Actually, I'm very thankful that Yao has a restaurant that isn't as ""high end"" as most sports figures have. (Though I know there is another downtown that is more so. Hey, I'd save my pennies and go there sometime as well!) And on top of that, in West Houston. We too can enjoy excellent Chinese cuisine! \r \r I can't say enough. The whole time I was enjoying my food, I was thinking that I HAD to remember to write a review online as soon as I got back to work. And it wasn't just me, I think it's pretty much all we talked about the entire meal...how good the food was. \r \r We went a little early, at 11:00 and were able to beat the big lunch rush. I have a friend that said that it was a little slow when she went last, but that it was still completely worth it, and she realized it was the lunch rush. \r \r Even if it's not often, go here, even for lunch. You may not be accustomed to treating yourself to more than the fast food and barbecue in this area, but please do. You won't regret it.\r \r My compliments to the chef, and Yao Ming for bringing us this caliber of Chinese food. Thank you!! Pros: Excellent food Cons: None for me more
