I took in a bridesmaid dress wanting to know how much it would cost to add a lace up back. When the woman who worked there didn't understand what I was saying because she doesn't speak English a man came out and talked to me. He said that he would need me to pick up the material at Joann Fabrics and bring it back and then it would be an estimate of 40-60 dollars because he thought it would take him 1-1.5 hours to complete and he charges $40/hr. When I came to pick up the dress he forgot to move the straps as he stated he would do, he did however fix this while I waited and then when I paid for the dress he said that he worked on it over 4 hrs and my total came to $109. I cannot believe that he could be this far off on an estimate. I was very very unhappy with this and don't want anyone to be ripped off like I was. DO NOT USE THEM, you'll be sorry you did if you do. The bride and I would have picked out a completely different dress if we knew it would cost this much to alter. I would have driven to the Purple Pin cushion in Mayville, WI where they don't overcharge for work done. When I had a lace up back put in my wedding dress there it only cost me $28 AND they bought the fabric that was needed.
