tasty and inexpensive sushi 6/20/2010

I am not a sushi expert by any means, so I am not going to argue with those reviewers who claim that what Marinepolis serves is not real sushi. However, for amateur sushi-lovers on a budget like me, this restaurant is a great choice. The kaiten (conveyor belt) concept is fun and lets you try a bit of everything. If you don't see something on the conveyor, you can order it and the chefs will make it for you. The selection of vegetarian sushi is not large, but there are at least 3-4 items to choose from, plus there are usually a couple more items that may not be on the conveyor but are listed on the menu and can be special-ordered. The decor and the overall feel of the place is much more plain then Genki Sushi on the next block, but the quality of the food is comparable, the prices are about the same, and the staff is much more friendly and attentive. A line often forms during dinnertime, particularly on weekends, so be prepared to wait along with several other people if you come during those times. There are a few chairs by the door for those who are waiting. Pros: cheap, tasty, fun Cons: can be crowded more
