From the start a basket of stale breadsticks and poor quality unheated bread was placed on the table. I get bread in Brooklyn, NY as good as they bake in Italy so I know the difference. The tomato sauce was not good, they are certainly not using San Marzano tomatoes. The stuffed pasta dish, agnolotti, was not filled enough with ricotta or fresh spinach and the risotto was dry and not creamy. I have dined in the best Italian restaurants in NY, Philly, Boston, Montreal, Chicago and more and this is terrible the owners should be ashamed of themselves in a great restaurant city like Chicago serving food like this. Anyone that thinks The Village is good Italian does not know Italian food. Even worse I brought a group in here from NY and this was a bad food experience for all.
Pros: NONE
Cons: Poor Quality Bread And Tomato Sauce
