My sister has gone to this doctor since she opened the doors about six years ago. I'm not exactly sure why. She has never been hospitable. The first occasion was to shame her into not bringing her stepdaughter to the doctor sooner when she had only lived with the child for 6 months. She continued to put fear into the stepdaughter at the age of 13 regarding sexual behavior.
Years later, she took her biological daughter there after insurance wouldn't cover the doctor she had been taking her to. The doctor was reasonably friendly on one visit, and immediately advised that the child's tonsils should be taken out. When my sister took the child to the ENT, they refused to do it until she was a little bit older.
Then within the next year, she gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, all-natural, homebirth. The doctor did not like this. At the time, my sister chose to have the midwife check the doctor out for a 3 day old visit and a 4 week visit rather than take her to Volusia Pediatrics. This decision was due in part because of the excessively long waiting periods in the waiting room with her daughter during the winter season (2 plus hours) that would be in company of several kids with the flu coughing all over the place. Can't say I blamed her.
She called them for an appt. at 5 weeks old, and they said they couldn't get him in until 9 weeks. When the doctor did see him, she was entirely hostile about the choice in doctors and paperwork filled out and continued to shame the father and pressure him into getting vaccinations that they were holding off on. When my sister called up there to let her know they had a less than favorable experience, she was met with a letter of expulsion saying she was unwilling to seek medical treatment. Ridiculous and untrue. I understand that they are trying to avoid lawsuits, but I would never allow my children to visit this doctor. (I haven't even went into some of the other things she told me...)
Pros: modern computer and equipment, friendly nurses
Cons: main female doctor seems overworked, unhappy, and tired
