After visiting Men's Warehouse and Savvi Formalware to find a tux for my wedding I was disappointed. Every tux these chain stores carried made me feel like I was just going to prom. They were not unique, they were not sexy, and the staff was rude (especially at Savvi Perimeter Mall).
I finally found Le Tux and decided to check them out. I knew I wanted to buy my tuxedo so that I could have it tailored to fit me perfectly and the citysearch reviews indicated that Le Tux had tuxedos available for purchase.
My fianc?e (now my wife) and I visited the Virginia Highlands shop on a rainy Saturday afternoon. I was immediately impressed by the ambiance of the store. It was very upscale yet "guy-centric". It is just a cool, classy, (and my wife says) sexy shop.
Kristen and Rik's customer service was great. You can tell that they really know men's fashion. This isn't an experience where some salesperson just points you in the direction of a book or a rack of tuxedos. They take the time to discuss what will work for you and why. I call Rik my fashion conscience and I'll continue to seek his advice as I continue to build my "grown-up" wardrobe.
The selection of tuxedos for purchase is not huge but that is a GOOD thing.Quality over quantity seems to be the theme at Le Tux. Every tuxedo in the store was fantastic and I chose the Jack Victor shawl collar (I didn't even know what a shawl collar was before I visited Le Tux).
Le Tux also handled my Groomsmen's rentals. They contacted my groomsmen (who were all from Delaware) and followed up with them to obtain measurements and payment for their rentals. When my groomsmen arrived, 2 days before the wedding, they were impressed with the service offered by Le Tux in making sure their rentals fit them well.
All in all I must say that I am 27 years old and I have never purchased a tuxedo or tailored suit before visiting Le Tux but I will be visiting Le Tux again for all of my formal ware/suit needs. I never looked better than I did on my wedding day in my tuxedo from Le Tux and I've never had such a pleasant experience purchasing anything.
If you are getting married DO NOT rent your tuxedo! Purchase it from Le Tux. This is the most important day of your life and your tuxedo should fit you perfectly. You should be treated with respect and personal attention. You should work with professionals who know and love what they are doing.
Thanks Rik, Kristen, and the entire Le Tux staff for making me look great on the most important day of my life!
Pros: Knowledgeable staff, great tuxedos, very personal service
Cons: none - seriously...none
