I was looking forward to dining at Bexley's Monk. I had heard nice things about it, but the reviews were from at least 2-3 years ago. Apparently things have changed. I always go into a new dining experience with an optimistic attitude. I WANT to enjoy the food, service, and atmosphere, and add another restaurant to my list of ""must returns"". This is not on that list. I went with a party of 6, and it seemed to take quite a while for our food to arrive, considering the lack of other customers in the dining area. Once the food did arrive, I was anything but impressed. The meal was lack luster. It sounded good enough on the menu, but the flavors were that of a TGI Friday's or Chili's. A couple of us ordered the same items, yet our portions sizes varied. We ordered dessert, and again, it seemed to take quite some time. My cheesecake was tasty, but not made on premesis. Overall, a let down from a restaurant that was once held in such high esteem. I would not recommend nor return to this dining establishment.
Pros: Inviting dining area
Cons: Mediocre food at best
