Whenever I fly into LAX, I always make sure I have a several hour layover for one reason: The Shellback Bar. It's my hub of culture on the beach where everything else comes together, a starting line for the race for fun around LA. The surfboards leaning on the walls, the signs, the music, and the beer all make for the perfect mental reset button. Later, walk out on the pier for the perfect ""welcome home back to LA"" feeling.
