I called Chimney Cricket on a Wednesday in March 2010 to see if they could clean my chimney Friday of that week. This was extremely short notice but the weather forecast was for a nice weekend and my plan was to reline the chimney and install a fireplace insert.. I was advised to have the chimney cleaned prior to relining. The owner of Chimney Cricket agreed to fit me into his busy schedule. The owner and his assistant arrived and spread large sheets on my living room carpet and then brought in their equipment. Much to my surprise they never needed to go up on the roof. The entire job was done from inside the fireplace where they run brushes up the full length of the chimney. A powerful vacuum keeps any dirt or dust from entering the living area. The job was very fast, efficient and the workers left no mess whatsoever. I would highly recommend Chimney Cricket if you need your chimney cleaned.
