Several months ago I made an appointment with Dr. Janet Pederson for my annual check up and pap smear. During my physical the Dr. asked if I have been experiencing any health problems or concerns. I presented a printed list of symptoms I?ve been keeping track of which were in line with a thyroid disorder. My mother was diagnosed with a thyroid disorder several months ago and I realized I was experiencing the same symptoms. \r

Dr. Pederson took a look at my list and instead of offering help she told me I needed to see a psychiatrist! I was insulted and offended that she did not take my concerns seriously so I asked for a referral for an endocrinologist. She agreed that I had ?something? going on and that a visit with an endocrinologist would be helpful. \r
