It had been a while since I'd been to Cafe Poca Cosa. It used to be a real gem of a restaurant, and one of my favorite places, so I went back the other night with a few old friends. This restaurant is not what it used to be -- not by any means. The service is among the worst I've ever had in Tucson. Our waitress, Cecelia, was pompous and arrogant. Like other reviewers have said, she acted like she was doing us a favor by being present from time to time.
She brought out the menu on the chalkboard as usual, and went straight to the special (the random selection of 3 items on the menu). She informed us that this was the only way to enjoy the restaurant, so how about if the entire table order it. She skipped over the description of the menu items entirely, and I actually had to ask her if she wouldn't mind telling us what's on the menu. The evening went downhill from there.
This used to be a good restaurant, but they have really lost their way. It's really easy to find terrific food and atmosphere in Tucson. There's no need to spend your time and money in a place that has become nothing but arrogant.
Leave this place for the tourists, who won't know any better anyway.
Pros: The food and margaritas are still good
Cons: The service is awful, and spoils the evening
