I have been to Vietnam restaurant with my friends several times because they say it is the only place in Eugene for pho. I do not eat the pho but have ordered a few things off of the menu before and have enjoyed them. Yesterday, we sat down and were greeted by an unfriendly waitress. I asked her to have the cooks make my vegetable chow mein just A LITTLE BIT spicy and I made this very clear. My egg rolls came out DRENCHED in grease and were dripping and had no flavor. Then my plate came out and it was the spiciest food I've ever eaten and everyone at my table agreed. I couldn't even consume the food because it was so spicy, my mouth was on fire and my lips and tongue were NUMB after 2 bites. I drank everyone at the table's water before the waitress came over later to refill all of our waters. I asked if there was anything they could do to fix my order because it was too spicy to consume. She ARGUED with me and said I ordered it that way and it was my fault. She also stated that it ""didn't look spicy to her"". She then asked if she could sample my noodles and asked me to give her some of my plate, which I did in shock. She never returned to our table once after that and didn't ask if we wanted any boxes and we never received our check. I was so enraged that I told her that I would not pay for the plate because I did not eat any of it. She argued again and told me I ordered it that way and that I had to pay. After arguing with her for a few minutes she told me she wouldn't charge me this time because the owner was not in today but next time I shouldn't order anything spicy and to mix it myself at the table (I wouldn't touch those spices/sauces because they were crusty and sit out all day and night). I told her there wouldn't be a next time because I won't give a business my money when they don't deserve it. Beware of this establishment with poor quality of food and high prices for pho!!
