A bit suffocating... 3/3/2010

The women here greeted me, and maintained a polite distance at first before becoming WAY too eager to help. I was asked about needing help at least fifteen times. The first asked my bra size, I gave it to her and she suddenly had to check because I didn't look like one. She measured me at two sizes over what I take. I know my size exactly, and shop at LB frequently. I explained this, but she immediately went off to fetch bras in the size measured. When I refused again she looked at me as if I had just spat out a toad and it had landed on her shoes; she insisted that a bra with full coverage would be much better than what I asked for - a demi. I try it. It is two sizes too small, and does not suit me at all. At this, the woman seemed absolutely dumbfounded, and decided to try one size smaller. This time, I put it straight on the return rack. Soon after, browsing the jeans, yet another associate (where are they coming from?!) comes up, greets me, and asks if I need any help. I say I'm ONLY looking for a gray size 6 in a certain style. She says she'll find it for me. I make it back to the fitting room. Midway through getting a shirt over my head, three pairs of pants are held over the door. I'm sure you can guess what color (and style!) WASN'T there. She said 'Oh...' when I told her this and then left to help another customer. I can't knock the service, if that's what you want. But it came across as rudeness, not helpfulness. Customers are able to tell what they like the fit of, and what not, and women most definitely tend to remember their sizes. They also know what colors they like. Don't waste time with fake compliments, repeated measuring because someone (the customer, apparently) has to be wrong about the necessary size, etc. And, perhaps worst of all, please also do not repeatedly follow us around asking how we are going to pay. That is our business. We're spending money at your store - do you really need to know where it's coming from? Also, do not criticize our size choices at the checkout. If we don't go with what you suggested, please attempt to consider that there just might be a reason. Pros: decent selection of colors and sizes Cons: overzealousness, lack of orderable sizes/colors more
