Mel Melton has hidden a southern Louisiana style club within a shopping plaza one mile south of exit 278 on I-40 in Durham NC. I drove 50 miles out of my way to visit this club and will do so again. 3/13/10, my wife and I visited for the first time and heard excellent music while Jasme, our server, made us welcome and educated us to our options. The gumbo was almost as good as what I used to eat in Kentwood, La and the crawfish etoufee was better than any I'd had before. I returned Sunday afternoon for the brunch and, as two men played on steel guitars, my wife and I shared a large meal of fried jambalaya, cheese grits, and poached eggs on a hash made of sweet potatos and andouille. Mel himself came to visit our table. Despite the crowded atmosphere, we were well served on both occasions.
