I first had photofacials at Body Envy for my acne. Although it stopped the breakouts and improved the appearance of a lot of my scars, I had extensive damage to my skin from 3 years of severe cystic acne. They suggested I have a few intense peels done to remove the damaged skin. At first I was a bit nervous because I never experienced having a peel done before. Because of this fear, Brittany suggested I do a mild peel first in preparation for a more intense one. I only had an afternoon of down time with the first peel and almost no actual peeling. I thought I wouldn't notice any change in my skin because I didn't see a visual peeling of my skin, but within two weeks I definitely started to notice some changes in the texture and color of my skin. At that point I knew I would be willing to sacrafice some down time if it would improve my scars. It has been over a month since my second peel and I CAN'T believe the changes in my skin. I didn't even realize how discoloted my skin was until I saw my fresh, new skin! The pitting I had on my cheeks also dramatically improved! I had about 7-10 days of my skin darkening and peeling but it was WORTH EVERY MOMENT!
