I live in the nabe and passed the place for years before finally going in. The space was attractive, comfortable - its red and brown hues inviting. I went with two friends who drink a lot, so they could not attest to whether the food was worth eating. The waitresses acted like they didn't want to be waitresses, probably not everyone's first choice as a career, and considering the food was no better than Veselka, the prices were high. .. and about the stainless steel toilets. Is anyone except a hard-core S&M fetishist really interested in experiencing life in a gulag? my friends loved the drinks. There are many more interesting places in NYC with much better food. If you want to drink a lot of vodka served by really fed up waitresses, you will be in heaven
