I know that this has been a mainstay in the neighborhood for many years, and I also know that I like good Italian food. Years back, after the demise of Collaro's, my mother and I thought we'd try Fiorentino's as we heard some good reviews of their food and atmosphere. So my father, mother and I ventured to the restaurant. It's a big, old-world sort of place, big and brash. My mother ordered Chicken Scarpariello, as I recall, and didn't enjoy it, and asked the waiter to please take it back. The elderly hostess (most likely the owner) came over and asked about the problem. The waiter related that my mother wanted a different dish as she wasn't enjoying this one, and my mother essentially told her the same thing. This woman practically pulled the plate out of my mother's hand with a surly expression, and told the waiter to get her something else. My mother was rather hurt by her attitude, and didn't care for the waiter's actions. Needless to say, when the meal was finished, we didn't leave a large tip. It was extremely poor business savvy to treat a customer or potential customer that way, and we never returned. I only gave it an extra star because of the cleanliness factor, but if you want good Italian food, try Europa in Bensonhurst or the Tuscany Grill in Bay Ridge instead. Pros: Clean Cons: Slow service, mediocre food, scarcity of parking more
