Love Pet's Pajamas! 2/1/2010

I stumbled across The Pet's Pajamas in May 2009 when I started working in the area. As a dog lover, I immediately fell in love with the little shop and the workers. The store is always decorated and welcoming. Though there are pets there, it is very clean and does not smell. There are countless pet supplies from leashes and collars, bowls, beds, sweaters and clothes, toys, bathing products, to homemade treats and birthday cakes. As it is a small, privately owned store, the prices can seem high depending on what you are looking for. In June '09, my fiance and I bought a purebred cocker spaniel puppy from PP. The owner and workers take excellent care of each animal in the store. The puppies are bathed and brushed every morning. We bought our puppy shortly after the store opened on a Saturday morning. The workers fed him, gave him a bath, then brushed and dried him so he was perfectly ready to go home. Kathy, the owner, gave us all of his forms about his parents and the breeders, so we know exactly where he came from. She also gave us a bag of the food they feed the puppies and explained how to go about switching to a different brand so he wouldn't get sick. Kathy was so sweet and helpful and so happy we bought our puppy. We make monthly trips to PP, even though we've moved to Cleveland. PP now has groomers so that's why we keep going back (it's 45 mins away). Our puppy loves his groomer and she always does an amazing and gentle job. She really understands animals and how to work with them, just like all of the other employees. They always take good care of our pup after we drop him off for a haircut. He loves his trips to the store and always recognizes the people who took care of him when he was just a couple months old. Also, PP requires you to take your new puppy to the vet after 2 weeks of ownership. We took our puppy to Valley Animal Hospital (right down the road from where we used to live) for his first checkup and the vet recognized him. Turns out Valley Animal Hospital is where PP puppies are taken for physical exams and shots. The vet absolutely praised PP for the care they give to all of the animals who are sold through the store. She said it was one of the best pet stores in the area and that PP improved every year. I was so happy to hear this as we were nervous about buying a pet store puppy. Our little cocker spaniel is almost 11 months old now and he is full of life, energy, happiness, and health. He is a sweet boy and has truly completed our little family. We plan to find him a sister to play with, either from PP or through an adoption center. I have always supported pet adoption and planned to only adopt my pets, but I couldn't resist The Pet's Pajamas. They provide the best puppies and customer service you could imagine. I definitely recommend PP if you are looking to buy a puppy or kitten... however, remember that once you walk out the door, it is up to you to take even better care of your dog than the employees did. Only you can ensure that your pet will have a happy and healthy life with you. more
