I was delighted when a Round Table closer to home started offering pizza buffet at lunchtime. With a better-than-decent salad bar on offer, I could eat several servings of vegetables to allay any guilt about having a piece of tasty cheese-laden pizza or two, and have a nutritious and filling lunch at a decent price and be done in under an hour. Of the major pizza chains, RT is probably my favorite. \r Unfortunately, there is a woman at this branch who by dress and demeanor I can only assume is the manager. Each time she saw me, she ordered another employee to handle my order. Okay, fine... Until one day, on a busy lunch shift, having seen me, she made a great display of wiping down the counters and beverage service, leaving me waiting at the counter for several minutes rather than take all of forty-five seconds to ring my order (I pay in cash.) Now, I am polite, I am very careful not to make a mess of anything, I stack my dishes before leaving and happily bus them myself in restaurants that allow it, so I can only guess that something about my appearance has made the manager decide she does not like the look of me. And frankly, that is not okay. I am sure there are others who will not have my bad experience, but I am through with patronizing a restaurant whose leadership treats a reasonable, paying customer with such disrespect. There are plenty of very good restaurants in the area, including pizza places, and even other Round Tables (the one closer to the Vancouver Mall has always treated me very well.) Pros: Round Table makes pretty good pizza; expansive salad bar Cons: *This* RT's manager made a regular customer swear off. more
