The ambience is lousy. Our table was near the back and occassionally fishy odors wafted our way. Some of our sushi was good, most was average to mediocre. The toro was bad - not fresh. We told the waiter and a minute later head chef Ike called to our table (on the wall not at the bar), ""What's wrong?"" forcing me to make my complaint publicly. ""The toro isn't fresh,"" I answered, as gently as I could. ""What do mean?"" Ike barked. What did he think I meant? ""It doesn't taste fresh."" Again: ""What do you mean?"" Really? A sushi chef doesn't know what not fresh means? I didn't want to shout it across the restaurant, but it tasted fishy, like day-old supermarket sushi. Ike snarled that nobody else complained and that was the end of it. No apologies, no offer of substitution, and no refund for $30 of uneaten toro.
Pros: some of the fish was decent
Cons: some of it wasn't. also - rude chef, bad ambience.
