I went to Beaman this past week in hopes of finding a 2010 Tundra. I spent about 2 hours looking with one of the salesmen. I liked the 2010 on the showroom floor but wanted one slightly used for a better deal. He found the exact truck with 6000 miles on it and said he could have it there the next day. He told me what an awesome deal It was getting it at a price of $30,600. \r
\r
I went home to do some research and within 5 minutes on Beamans web site I found the NEW SHOW ROOM FLOOR TRUCK for $30,550!!!\r
With this knowledge I returned 2 days later to negotiate for the used truck.\r
\r
I had every intention of walking out with the used truck for as much as $28,000 or just buying the showroom floor truck at its internet price.\r
I asked my sales guy to get me an itemized bill of EVERYTHING that would be in the final price of the used truck so I would have a starting point for negotiating and they could not add on extras after I offered them a lower price.\r
\r
After being gone for well over 20 minutes he returned with BJ Futrell ( the internet sales manager) and informed me that BJ would take over from here. I sat down with BJ and he started to go over the itemized bill. I stopped him and said, ""I'll look over it, I just need to know if this bill has ALL charges for the final bill.""\r
\r
He then proceeded to tell me it was just missing some taxes, indoc fee, ect... I was rather irritated at this point and informed him that I had just waited 20 minutes and did not get what I had requested. He told me know problem, he'd just write in the extra costs with his ink pen. I refused and said I wanted the bill in a typed format. \r
\r
After going back and forth on the issue a couple times and being referred to (in his irritated voice) as ""man"" rather than sir or by my name, BJ proceeded to roll his eyes, sigh and get up to go do what I had asked for (about half an hour earlier at this point)\r
.\r
At this point I was not happy with his lack of customer service so I went ahead and let him know that I knew they were trying to sell me a used truck for more than they were asking for the exact same new truck on the showroom floor. Then he told me (again in an irritated voice) that the price was not set in stone and I could make a lower offer. Duh!!\r
\r
I offered $25,000. I knew he would not take it but I figured it was no more of an insult than what they tried to pull on me and we'd have a starting point for negotiating.\r
\r
He let out a smart ass laugh and said ""NO"" \r
I walked out and never heard another word from them.\r
Again.... I planned on driving one of those trucks home but the customer service was so horrific it just couldn't happen.\r
\r
Also, every time the sales guy had to leave my sight to do anything, he was gone atleast 10 to 15 minutes (smoke break maybe??) \r
\r
Unacceptable.\r
