I never write reviews but consider myself an advocate for smaller independently owned restaurants. I never expect a free meal nor do I expect a large scene to be made because of an issue. \r

BUT tonight (Dec. 22, 2010) I saw a hair in my "No Name Roll"... granted it was not a long piece of hair but regardless, it was a hair. We called a server over who quickly took the plate away.... note the roll was delicious... another server came back to inform me that no one could find the hair and they felt bad they could do nothing for me. \r

Another server came to check on us (not her table) and I had her take the plate away. She quickly came back to say "I am sorry, I didn't know you were the gal that had the hair". At this time, we asked for the bill as the rest of the servers/ chefs watched from a distance. \r

I paid the $22 for the No Name Roll (which is the most popular roll and I can see why, it really is good) along with the app and alcohol. As we walked out, we were approached by Lucy outside saying she was sorry (again) that she could not find the hair but couldn't do anything for me. \r

The point is not that Sushi Simon is a bad restaurant, b/c the food I did have was delicious. The service was great until the issue was made bigger than it needed to be. The point IS that I consider myself a respectable person who loves to support small establishments but not when the Owner, Simon (who was there and never left behind the counter) and his staff continuously call me a liar and revisit the issue. I really wish my first visit wouldn't be my last but sadly, I have no desire to ever return... I hear Lemongrass in Delray is cheaper and you get more for your buck.
