TRISH, the office manager, is a very rude and dishonest person and makes it not even worth living at Coventry Court West. My family and I lived in Coventry Court West, paid rent on time each and every month, and we gave a 30 day notice before the end of our lease (as we were told to by Trish). We did everything we were asked to do while living there. Ends up, our lease stated that we had to have a FULL CALENDAR MONTH'S Notice before we moved (not a 30 day notice). Our lease was up July 31st and our notice was turned in July 1st. Trish said she never received our notice to vacate (which was placed in a sealed envelope and turned in on July 1st with our last month's rent check.....they recieved our rent check, but somehow our notice MAGICALLY disappeared). I made copies of everything and kept them as we were taken to a hearing and a trial because they placed a claim against us in small claims court stating we needed to pay rent for August along with a 50 dollar late fee, even though our lease was up in JULY and we gave noticed as we were asked to do so. We tried to resolve everything with Trish over the phone...she was rude to my husband and proceeded to put him on hold for 10 minutes, so my husband hung up. My husband then had his step-father call Trish to find out what was going on and she began to yell at him and hung up on him. I then called and tried to resolve things with her and she began yelling at me on the phone, wouldn't let me get a word in edgewise, she said that we didnt put our notice to vacate on the proper form (which makes it sound like she really DID receive our notice), and told me that my husband and I have accountability issues. I offered to drive and hour and a half (thats how far away we live now) to show her my copy of my notice to vacate, but she continued to yell at me saying it wouldn't solve anything and would result in us arguing. This is by far the worst customer experience I have ever experienced in my life. What kind of manager yells at a client who has done all that has been asked of them? In fact, What kind of manager yells at any client!? It doesn't happen very often, but it HAS and WILL CONTINUE to happen at Coventry Court West. \r

From our trial...Trish stated to the judge that she knew our situation very well and that they try to pre-lease all apartments ahead of time and since they ""didn't receive our notice,"" then they didn't try to pre-lease our ONE bedroom apartment. She then proceeded to talk about how they do not have many ONE bedroom apartments available for tenacy and that they could have pre-leased our ONE bedroom apartment. Funny thing is...we didn't live in a one bedroom apartment, we lived in a TWO bedroom apartment. Sounds like she knew our situation REALLY well...\r

Anyways, the judge ruled that we owe them August rent & late fee, along with their attorney costs because there is a ""common law"" from a case in 1928 (yes thats right, 1928) that defines a ""full calandar month's notice"" as turning in the notice as the day before the first day of the calandar month. We turned our's in July 1st, but if we would have had it in June 30th, then we would have won this case. \r

Even though our result didn't turn out in our favor, I hope someone will read our story and it will help them to avoid the situation we were put in with Coventry Court West. Good Luck to those who already live there when it comes time to move out!\r

TO ANYONE CONSIDERING LIVING AT COVENTRY COURT WEST, I AM ASKING YOU TO RECONSIDER FOR YOUR OWN BENEFIT! Although this IS nice place to live, it is NOT worth the trouble of dealing with Trish.\r
