Rude, Money Hungry Criminals 11/30/2010

I recently had my first (and last) experience at De Peiro's Farm. While I was picking pumpkins with my kids in their pumpkin patch, I witnessed the owner come down and yell at a group of young adults for coming down to the pumpkin patch without paying the overpriced $10 fee to do so. As I listened to the conversation unfold, it became apparent that the individuals had walked down without knowing that you have to pay to take a hayride to the patch. These individuals were very apologetic and prepared to leave immediately, but the owner insisted that they pay the $10.00 or she would call the cops and have them persecuted for trespassing. Is this fair? For the record, there were no signs in the parking lot directing individuals inside to pay for the hayride, and there were no signs discouraging people from walking down to the pumpkin patch. This is a rude injustice, unfair, and poor business practice to accost harmless patrons in such an unreasonable manner. Taking into consideration the high prices and sub-par products offered by De Piero's, I would recommend visiting one of the many other worthy pumpkin patches and autumn attrations offered in New Jersey. more
