oregano's pizza bistro 11/28/2010

On Thursday the 11th of November at 6:30 p.m, my boyfriend and I went on a double date with our two friends to Oregano?s Pizza Bistro on Southern Ave. and Dobson Rd. Upon our arrival, we were told the approximate wait time would be 45 minutes by the metro-sexual host. We were then sat at a cozy table large enough to seat a family of 6 comfortably. To start off our meal, an order of 9 ?wong? wings was brought to us within 10 to 15 minutes. Steam issued off of the wings as we each took a bite of oregano sprinkled, honey-glaze drizzle freshly made chicken wings. The honey sauce melted as soon as it hit our mouths and the oregano bits added an Italian taste to the wings. To follow this heavenly chicken delight was a pan pizza topped with pepperoni and sausage, which took approximately 45 minutes. The pizza was piled sky-high with toppings, the mozzarella cheese was stringy and steamy, yet the dough of the pizza seemed to overwhelm the entirety of it all. It was fluffy and dough-like, almost as if it could?ve been cooked a tad bit longer. The crust was, however, crispy and golden-brown, the pepperoni had a little kick to it yet not in-your-face, and the sausage was a calming sensation to the pepperoni. To end our grand meal was a chocolate chip cookie warm and gooey, freshly baked and topped off with sweet vanilla ice cream. Together the two made a perfect combination to fulfill that sweet tooth that we were all craving. Our server made for a memorable experience as well, laughing at our jokes and charades and refilling our drinks whenever they were half empty. All in all, the pizza was great because of the toppings and the cookie to end the meal, as well as the night, made for an enjoyable time with friends and loved ones at Oregano?s Pizza Bistro. more
