Has Added a Brazilian Restaurant BOI PRETO 10/5/2010

September 9, 2010 **this was the first message we delivered to the health agency in San Diego***My wife and I recently visited your fair city of San Diego. We had a very lovely time until the last 5 days of our visit. We were in your downtown Gaslamp neighborhood admiring the businesses and restaurants. We were handed a coupon by a women for a Brazilian eatery. It looked and sounded delightful. As we had already eaten we waited until the following day to use the coupon. While the place was clean and bright the food pleasing to look at we both after eating became very ill. We both commented on the bitterness of the beets, the sourness of the bean stew and the chicken stoganoff and were told by the chef (a rather large asian woman), that it was brazilian spices. The name of the establishment was Boi Preto at 711 4th Avenue. The date of our visit was Friday September 3, 2010. We were flying out that afternoon and only ate at this establishment & didn't get sick until we were in mid flight back to Britain. Once we landed an airline official escorted us to a physicians office near the airport. We spent 6 hours there waiting on blood tests while being given IV fluids. The physician concurred it was food poisoning. I have tried to call the restaurant several times but no one has responded at all. I thought by contacting you we could hopefully stop anyone else from getting sick. \r Since this time my wife has been diagnosed with Reiter's syndrome. She is in her mid 70s and has been in good health up until now. If anyone else has had any issues from this establishment please contact us. This ad is not meant to defam or cause damage to anyone. We would like a complete and detailed inspection of this entire establishment in order to protect anyone else in our situation. \r more
