I read the negative reviews right after i signed up for the class, but thought that maybe the people were just bitter and that I would just get what I could get out of the class. \r
I'm a professional pastry chef from one of the top culinary schools in the country and wanted to brush up on my fondant skills since it's been a while. I found the ""Professional"" Fondant class online and thought it would be perfect. When you sign up it says that all students will be sent a ""supply list"" of items that students will have to bring with them. So I thought, like culinary school, or other ""professional"" classes I've known of over the years that I would be required to bring my basic tools while the main materials to complete the course would be provided by CakeCrafteShoppe--THINK AGAIN, BATMAN! I called the week before the class to have the list sent to me and was sent a ""supply list"" of more than 50 items, including colors, fondant and textured rolling pins (one with basketweave on it, for goodness sakes!) --things that I will never use again and that should be provided by the place offering the class. I called to ask if I just didn't bring some of the items and just observed could I still take the class and was told that the instructor wouldn't allow it. Got a refund! I suppose this is her business and this instructor can run her school however she wishes, but it sure isn't professional.
