I was a tenant at Marina Shores apartments Virginia Beach VA from 2007 to 2010. During my time there I was late on only one payment for rent and that was due to changing debit cards when my bank account was compromised. My rent was obviously placed on auto pay. Upon moving out early in the month of August 2010 I was advised that they would rent out the apartment as soon as they could and that I may even get a refund on the month’s rent. I left a forwarding address and they even had my cell phone number. This month October 2010, I received a notice that my rent went to collections by the collections agency. I was baffled as to what happened. Marina Shores never called me and they never sent me a notice that there was a problem with anything. I even called them in September 2010 to insure that everything was taken care of. I was advised that the apartment never rented out until the end of the month and that they were sorry but there would be no refund.\r
All I can tell you is use good judgment when renting from this place. It’s a nice place with a great gym and pool as well as other perks but the management may not be telling you the truth when it comes time to leave.
