Stay Away at All Costs 10/1/2010

Talked with a number of other people in the same situation today. Email me if you would like to join the legal action against Willow River. antiwillowriver@gmail dot com Like previous reviews have indicated, stay away. Summary - We hired them to build a basic two car garage in April of 2010. We were told 4 weeks total. It is now October and the project is still not finished. If you need any additional information to stay away from them please call or email me. We had a number of bids and they were in the middle of the price range, but could commit to a decent schedule which was important to us. First review The estimated time frame was 4 weeks total when we signed the contract (including time for the concrete to set etc). We were told it would be done by Memorial Day. I cannot get them to return a call, e-mail, or text! I've tried all their cell phones, office lines, emails... I've been promised a number of times that construction would be starting ""Monday"" or ""Friday"" and no one shows. Now I cannot get a return call. Avoid them at all costs. I have detailed timelines of attempts to contact them and non response for over up to two weeks at a time. It is now August 19th, and they still need to install the garage door, do the electrical, and the cement work for the driveway and sidewalk. It has been a week with no response from e-mail, calling, and texting. They have also said it is not their responsibility to pay for the neighboors fence that was damaged in May ($495) in damage. The dumpster of one of their subs hit it. The owner Pat said ""it is like if your buddy drove into it"". Meaning he wants me to chase down his sub instead of paying for the damage himself and getting reimbursed. I paid to fix the fence and Pat told me I'd have a check the following day, well its been over a month and no word or check. The electrical finally showed because I paid them directly since Willow River hasn't been paying their sub contractors. The electrician voiced his frustration with them as well. More updates to come if this project ever gets finished. Updated October 1. The major construction is done (six months behind schedule), there are a few issues still pending. They haven't returned a call in three weeks. I finally called from another number and got the owner Pat to answer, he then acted like he had a bad connection and couldn't hear me when I said my name. We are still waiting for the inspection to be completed, after every rain water is covering the garage floor, when they did the cement it splashed over the garage door and they just left it, they still have a work bench attached to the wall in my garage. The list goes on, but all I can say this is the by far the worst contractor experience we have run into. Stay away at all costs. more
