This religious community was built on the property of Cabana Beach Park (Racoon Lakes) in Washington County, PA. It was formerly named South Hills Christian Center. It is an apostolic faith group (bit.ly/bPCRQh) with a long history and well-established reputation for cultic behavior and broken families. Members are trained to 'cut-off' or completely shun ex-members, including parents, children, grandchildren and siblings. Divorce is justified, supported and often encouraged from a spouse who wishes to leave the community. No fellowship with churches outside apostolic control, as they do not recognize Christian or Evangelical churches as part of God's Kingdom. Loyalty to this community and it's leadership supersedes all other relationships. Consistent patterns of control through intimidation, suppression and isolation. Children receive a K-12 education exclusively from group members and are shunned if they leave upon adulthood. All members and youth are required to marry other followers of the apostle or convert outsiders. Given the extent of family interrelation and social exclusivity, exit is both difficult and traumatic. Dissenters and former members are renounced as 'bitter' or 'deceived', and are disowned. Criticism is considered insubordination or persecution and is met with fear tactics, slander, confusion, accusation and innuendo. Be aware - this community is known to post guards with concealed firearms.
