Avoid this Salon and Spa at All Costs! 10/22/2010

Upon entering, we were greeted by the male receptionist who, after confirming that it was our very first visit to the salon, cattily remarked in a loud & annoyed voice, "Well, what took YOU so long to come here?". No smiles, no laughter. Just an indignant, bad attitude. What a way to make new clients feel welcome! A pedicure at Bad Hair Day is neither relaxing nor enjoyable. Since it was almost lunch, our technicians were busy discussing their lunch. Which resturant to order from. Then our "professionals" paused during our services to get up and talk to other staffers, and put together a lunch list. Really. Clients, were treated as an after thought. Pedicures are given upstairs, in an area that is very close to a small kitchen area. Many staffers came over to eat, talk and laugh with other staff members in the small kitchen area. In addition to getting up and igorning clients several times, it was a loud and unrelaxing enviroment. My friend also booked a haircut with someone, who we were assured, was a "very experienced, Aveda trained stylist". My friend said the shampoo person was exceptional - hot towels on the hands, great scalp massage, etc. But the stylist didn't seem to care about the hair ideas that my friend had and her haircut was given in a huge hurry! Took less than 15 mins!! Literally. Apparently, the stylist was hungry and wanted to join others in the kitchen upstairs. The stylist barely interacted with my friend and the haircut was below average. I don't know if the stylists work directly for Bad Hair Day, or if they just "rent" chairs from Bad Hair Day. But the vibe was one of unprofessionalism, bad attitude, sloppy work habits and a "we're just too hip to care" bad attitude. Don't waste your money at Bad Hair Day!! Trust us.
