We went to La Prima Donna to celebrate my fiance's 30th birthday. Our party consisted of 5 people. My uncle wanted lasagna which they did not have. My aunt wanted ravioli or manicotti which again they were out of stock. My fiance ordered veal, but the waitress brought chicken. I order the Linguini with Clams. After one bite I realized the clams were old and had a very foul smell and taste. I hated to complain, but I sent the food back. I wasn't sure if I even wanted another entree. The waitress suggested to me that the chef could make a similar dish with shrimp. It was fair, but much better than my original choice. When the bill came the waitress stated that rather than charging $4 more for the shrimp, they would just charge me for the less expensive clams. I feel like that if old clams had been served at another restaurant the entree would have been taken off of the bill. However, the paying for the meal did not bother me, it was the poor tasting food. The salad that came with the entree was less than spectacular as well. It looked as if something that might have been served at a fast food restaurant. The manager was very nice and gave us several bottles of their signature salad dressing which was very good. I appreciated the kind gesture but do not think I will return to this restaurant.
