I've been a Bikram Yogi for over 10 years. Contrary to a lot of people's notions of what Yoga is about, this is a demanding and surprisingly aerobic form of exercise. The Hall Street studio is one of four Portland studios offering the full on Bikram method. The big studio is pleasant and the Bikram-trained teachers are smart, steeped in the knowledge of anatomy and the science of exercise. Most are quite compassionate and willing to give individual attention to students. Twenty years ago, an orthopedic surgeon told me i would have to have hip replacements in 20 years. There is no doubt in my mind that my yoga practice has made that surgery unnecessary.
