Pangea is an East Village leftover from the glory days but unfortunately the food they serve now tastes like reheated leftovers.
The pasta is starchy which indicates that it has been precooked and then quickly reboiled for each order, the sauce it swims in indicates the pasta has not been properly drained. My wife ordered Roasted Bistro Chicken but was served Morrocan Chicken which she accepted due to our time frame until she tasted it, it was pink. When she finally received her correct order twenty minutes later we had to leave to catch a movie across the street but we were charged for everything, not so much as a free glass of wine while my wife waited.
We paid hard earned money only to leave disgusted and still hungry.
There is a very good reason the lights are turned down very low, unfortunately the lights in the restrooms are bright and and one discovers that the sinks are hanging off the wall and there is no toilet paper.
There is a lively bar crowd , some of whom fell of their stools while we were there.
I think this restaurant is nothing more than a boozey joint.
Pros: an alcoholic bar scene
Cons: do not order food here
