Yes, they are expensive, but this is a 24 hour emergency clinic and not a 9-5 day clinic so I can understand why they'd have to charge more.
However, we spent several thousand dollars trying to get a diagnosis for our very sick 4 month old puppy after our local vet referred us there. He was sent home with a relatively healthy diagnosis, only for us to find out when we took him to a different local vet that he had an extremely rare condition that was slowly killing him.
So yes, they have all the tools to do the work, but they still don't seem equipped to deal with the rare stuff, yet they'll charge you several thousand dollars for a wrong diagnosis.
However, the staff were really nice and our puppy did really enjoy being there.
