I have been in a lot of costume shops, but goodness, this one was the smelliest. I realize that it's hard to launder costumes, due to their delicate nature but that's what Febreeze, Lysol and dry cleaning are for.
The smell was so bad, I had to leave after a few minutes, for fear of regurgitation (and I have a strong stomach). I have never been so overwhelmed by the scent of a place, but the stench was atrocious.
The place was a mess. It was dirty and run down. The costumes looked like they were all produced in the 70's and if you touched them, they would disintegrate. The prices were high, more so than other ""mom and pop"" places.
Another thing was the clerk... while very friendly, her personal hygiene was sub-par and enough to make you back away.
I just couldn't imagine paying $200 for a synthetic wig, nor renting a costume from them.
Pros: Friendly staff. Easy to find purple building w/ Gorilla.
Cons: The stench, old, dirty, run down, high prices.
