I am Chinese and searched forever to find good, authentic Chinese food when I got to Austin until I discovered them. Yes, the restaurant is dingy, but it's gotten a face lift lately and there have been efforts over the years to clean it up a bit. Yes, the wait can be a while and there is no comfortable waiting area, but the throngs of Chinese families eating happily there contributing to your wait - isn't that a good thing, really? So time your visit... if it's around lunch/dinnertime particularly on Fri or Sat, expect a 20-30 min wait. Yes, the service can be terrible depending on which server you have, but the food is usually brought out quickly (albeit usually not all at once). \r

Save room if you can for the side benefit - dessert next door at Coco's :)
Pros: Fabulous food
Cons: If you're a service snob, go elsewhere :)
