I was at this location for another reason (looking for an FRS radio for my upcoming trip) when I noticed they had a mock up of a Palm Pre, a phone I've been coveting for a while now. My $150 rebate was up (get it after one year in contract) so maybe I'll just get a new phone to replace my dying Spring Instinct before my trip.

Buying a new cell phone is no joke; you're going to be stuck with this thing for about a year or so. I wanted to compare form factor with my current phone, try the keyboard, read the stats on the board, get a feel for the phone before pulling the trigger.

All was going well and I was about to ask if they had any in stock when the sales rep, who was previously friendly, yells at me from behind the counter, ""Sir, I don't know what you are trying to do but that phone isn't real. It's a fake!""

I was stunned. I went from about to buy a new cell phone to basically being kicked out of the store. I couldn't even think of a come back. His co-worker was looking at me like I had two heads. Did they think I was trying to steal this obviously fake plastic mock up? Seriously?

James - still looking for an FRS radio and a new Sprint phone.
Pros: Staff was quick to ask if I needed help, location
Cons: Look at an item too long they will get angry.
