If you have a lot of time to wait, then stop in 8/5/2009

3 of us went to the Boathouse on a Tuesday mid- afternoon. First drawback, they had run out of blueberry wheat beer so my husband had to settle for something else not so 'special' in terms of a beer. OK fine- that happens. Second, all we ordered was chicken wings and cheese curds. We waited easily 25+ minutes which is entirely too long. Looking around the restaurant, we noticed that everyone else also had been waiting a very long time for the same type of food, as well as burgers, etc. (we were one of the last tables to be served) When I asked about the long wait, that person had conveniently just started their shift and had no clue but we never got any explanation from the server as to why we had to wait so long. We were pretty close to leaving, paying for just our beverages. The chicken wings were good, the cheese curds we OK. Nothing like at the fair. I heard from a co-worker who went there a week later that they were out of another beer when they went. If you have nothing better to do but wait for food, then go ahead and try this place. If you are there for the microbrews, I suggest you ask if they are out of anything first before plopping down on a bar stool. Cons: Excessively long wait for food, specialty beers unavailable more
