First off, let me emphasize that I am a businessman from North Carolina: I have no dog in this fight.
I have been going to Mekong restaurant for 18 months now on my visits to Richmond, and was tiring of the menu and sometimes slow service. So I saw reviews of House of Viet Nam were pretty good and tried them tonight. As someone else said, they try too hard at being polite. I ordered a fresh spring roll, which was decidedly not fresh, probably yesterday's. And I was very disappointed in my Pho (noodle soup), which I am accustomed to receiving with a plate full of bean sprouts, basil sprigs, and lime wedges for me to add. There was just a bowl of undercooked noodles and raw veggies in hot water with nest to no seasonings. Huh? To top it off, the manager asked if I was ""doing OK"" on my next -o-the-last fork full of noodles. Why bother asking at that point? Next trip, it's back to Mekong!!
