I've been to Sandro's three times in the last three weeks and plan to keep returning on, hopefully, as regular a basis. It has quickly become my favorite place in the city - I forget I'm in New York and feel transported to Italy as soon as I walk in. The wait staff and Sandro himself are wonderfully hospitable, and the food is the most authentic I've had outside of Rome. It has been packed every time I've been, all on weeknights, which is particularly impressive given both the fact that it is August and that restaurants, unless top notch, tend to be struggling right now. It is simply a wonderful experience that cannot be recommended highly enough.
