Had them come in to check a leak in a second floor shower. Was told immediately (before they even looked at the shower or went upstairs) that the wall would have to be opened. I said the builder had fixed it before with just a washer. After a half hour, the plumber came down and said he would have to tear down the wall for $1200, and no wall repair included. I said no and he charged me $300. I called another plumber who identified the problem as a shower head that needed a touch of silicone putty -- which he told me I could do myself for 5.95. The second plumber (the Irish plumbers) didn't even charge for the visit. .
