I got a xbox 360 elite when it first came out for a present with an extended warranty from Best buy. 13 months into owning the xbox 360 it would lockup/overheat while playing COD: Modern Warfare. After making sure to blow all the dust out of the xbox and still having the problem I had to take it in.
