This is a pro photographers review for the house. I?ve been a wedding photographer in the triangle area for the pass five year. I have shot at all the major and small wedding/reception locations. The house is wonderful and many small hidden location to photograph the bride/groom. I would have to say the wedding timing is on the money.
That?s a plus for the photographer. We have no time to spare
Now my gripes, as any bride knows the photographer will be with you from getting ready to your big exit. He/She does not stop and no a time to waste. We have to coordinate, be creative and social. On top of making sure no shots are missed. I have photograph five weddings at the house. The management has always been very rude and un-friendly to me. If it?s a full service dinner expect not to eat unless you count scraping left over for the appetizer table. I have maybe five minutes to eat. I?ve asked for a plate my plate before and was told, ?Let see what we have left?!!! Wow, I charge $3000-$5000 for my service and I have to beg for food that?s in the contract. The photographer has been with the bride/groom the whole day. I?m sure he/she is hungry too. The staff is great but the management a husband and wife teams are not nice. The husband never smiles, I think he?s a cop or maybe ex-military who never really left that behind. You know this type which is fine but not for a wedding reception house. The wife reminds me of server you would fine at Waffle House 12am after you left the Preston House hungry. She is a control freak who will cut you if you cross her. Which is fine but not for your wedding reception. They treated me like I was there employee. To all photographers, don?t show weakness to the management. For brides, before you hire that $4000 photographer to shoot your wedding at the Preston House make sure he is treat well by the management. Your wedding images may suffer
Pros: Beautiful house, great place to photograph, timely coordinat
Cons: Dull and diner style service, so so food, unhappy management
