Took in my wife's car because of a slight squeal from the brakes. Their estimate said I needed new pads front and rear, near rotors on rear because of insufficient material to re-finish them, and brake fluid flush. Grand total of $511. I told them thanks, but no thanks, and took it to an honest mechanic for a second opinion. Turns out front pads had between 40% and 50% material remaining, rear rotors had more than enough material to re-finish, and the brake fluid was just fine. All I needed was rear pads replaced -- $170. Feels like I was lied to so that Big Brand could get me to pay for a bunch of unneeded work. I'll not be back there ever again. The only redeeming quality is that at least their inspection is free so I owed them nothing for their inflated estimate, and they didn't hassle me for not authorizing the work. (But of couse they made me wait for almost 45 minutes before they took my car off the rack and let me leave.)
